Man On The Run

This student had more than one painting that had to do with war and instead of drawing a human that has been hurt, she drew a teddy bear in each painting

Body Image

All the Fairytales and Disney characters joined together in one portrait. What the artist is trying to convey here is that fairytales aren't real and that not everybody gets to have a happy ending.

As a leading establishment in Bahrain’s art and cultural scene, Al Riwaq is a non-profit space supporting contemporary art practice and encouraging youth’s creativity.
Since its founding in 1998, the gallery’s vision has been to promote creativity and art value, providing the artists and the public with a platform to exchange ideas, provoke intellectual debate, promote, inspire and develop creative thinking and nurture cultural production.
The gallery promotes its mission by nurturing a strong relationship between art and society through its programs. In order to encourage public awareness and appreciation of visual arts, Al Riwaq hosts local and international group exhibitions, workshops, talks and debates, film screenings and meetings for the art communities and patrons.

On the 13th of June, talented students & passionate art lovers came together to celebrate Bayan's graduates Art International Baccalaureate students' exhibition "Series One : Processes & Realties". Al Riwaq Art space occupied the gallery with paintings, sculptures and photographs of all kinds and colors that inspired both the artists and the viewers. While I was at the Exhibition, I took pictures of my favorite  pieces that I felt had a lot of meaning behind them. It was a very successful event & what i liked most about the exhibition was that every project was a critique of our modern day issues whether is was about politics, war, environmentalism, the media, feminism, gender, consumption, sociology, and national identity. I also liked how the artists expressed their feelings by drawing and painting everything into a canvas. Al Riwaq Art Space holds a lot of different events with different kinds of themes based on the artists, seasons, and contemporary world issues. They also have a workshop for children from ages eight to 12, don't I wish i was young again for that!! I honestly cannot wait to attend the next Exhibition and felt that both the young artists and the owner did a great job!
